Testimony, case file #1023: Justin Timberlake.
The following is a series of excerpts from the transcript of several weeks of video taped interviews with Wade J. Robson, an associate of one Justin Timberlake. Wade Robson is a former resident of the farm where Timberlake is said to have his homestead; the exact whereabouts of this commune is unknown. This is the first successful interview with a former member of the commune -- until now, all efforts made to elicit information from alleged commune members met with unequivocal failure. Despite investigation, the approached individuals were incredibly tight-lipped about anything save Timberlake's musical influence.
Robson was eventually picked up by police for shop-lifting, and held until we could transfer him to a hospital for evaluation. Because of Robson's testimony, Timberlake is currently on the FBI watch-list of possible cult activity.

3:24 PMInterviewer: Do you remember what you did?
Robson: He was god, he was god and we were all his--
I: Do you remember what you did?
R: He was--
I: You. Do you remember, Wade?
R: There. On the farm. Music all the time.
I: Can you tell me about the white room, Wade?
R: I remember the beat, the beat was crazy. [a pause] The beat went on, I can still hear it, in my head sometimes. I'm never alone.
I: Some of your friends have told us you were educated through the beat in the white room. Can you tell us what that means?
R: The beat is inside all of us. It's inside you right now, you just have to know how to access it so you can be free. Free to do whatever you want.
I: Did he make you do things? If you can't tell us, Wade, we can't help you.
R: Classes?
I: What?
R: We had - I mean, not me, but the kids - had classes to go to. Education was always important to him.
I: Okay, what happened when someone didn't go to class?
R: Education is key to self-awareness and self-development. If you don't educate the mind, how are you going to ever understand the mind?[At this point in the session, Robson began staring off into space and ignoring any question posed to him. The agent in charge of questioning halted transcription and tape, and Robson was taken to his room for the night. Questioning began again the next morning.]

9:16 AMI: How was breakfast?
R: Not as good as the cereal we used to get, that's for sure.
I: You seem more cheerful this morning...
R: Cheerful? You just have to know how to balance your thoughts and your emotions. How are you doing, detective?
I: It's Doctor, actually.
R: Doctor, then. How are you? You look stressed.
I: I'm not afraid to tell you, Wade, I am a little stressed out.
R: Is there anything I can do?
I: Well, there is in fact, Wade. Can we talk about Justin some more?[The interview was similar, if not identical, to all other interviews on record with Timberlake's followers. He spoke lucidly, talked about Timberlake in reverent tones and wouldn't reveal any real information at all.]
R: No.
I: Can we talk about the farm, then?
R: No.
I: I know the farm is supposed to be secret, but it's okay, you can tell me about it. You can tell me where the farm is.
R: No.
I: What about music, can we talk about that?
R: No.[This is a break in the pattern seen with previous interviewees. Most were eager to discuss Timberlake's music, his past and present projects, his influences, his musical philosophies. Robson, instead, began getting agitated and wouldn't sit still, refused to make eye contact.]
I: Why not, Wade?
R: Because, that. It's just that part of my life is over now, and the past isn't somewhere we need to dwell. He used to say that, you never want to dwell, he never dwelled and we shouldn't either.
I: Why does talking about the past upset you?
R: It doesn't, it's just pointless. You can't change it, you can just deal with it and make the best of the present and the future. By the way, when can I leave?
I: Your family is worried about you, that's why you're here.
R: I'm not worried about me.
I: Well, let's just talk. Maybe I can help you get out of here quicker.
R: You just want to pick my brain about him, I know how you work. Everyone just wants to know about him.
I: And this bothers you?
R: That, it. [a pause] It doesn't matter.
I: Why don't we try something different. Can we talk about Pharrell?
R: Pharrell was before. I told you, the past isn't somewhere we need to dwell.
I: But Pharrell, he taught Justin things, didn't he?
R: He said, he said he learned something new every day.
I: What did he learn from Pharrell?
R: Pharrell and Justin used to make music together. Like Justin and I, we made music together, before, did I tell you that?[Preliminary examination of the few songs Robson and Timberlake co-wrote show a lack of the influences throughout Timberlake's later tracks. The assumption being fostered, then, is that the subliminal influences were an invention of Williams'.]
[The rest of the session didn't result in anything new. The next time Robson said anything of value was two days later.]

1:17 PMI: Can I ask you about the farm yet?
R: I guess.
I: Can I ask about what Justin did, the people that lived there?
R: [long pause] I guess.
I: Did, was Justin in a relationship with any of them, Wade? [long pause, Robson unresponsive] Did he sleep with any of the kids there?
R: You just don't get it, it's not about that, he. It's about working on what you are, who you are.
I: Taking sexual advantage of vulnerable young men and women is about finding out who you are?[The only solid evidence to date of sexual contact at all is a doctor's prescription to a suspected member of the commune for birth control pills, paid for by Timberlake. Robson refused to answer for the rest of the session. It took almost a week to recover any ground.]

10:22 AM
I: It was a half-way house.
R: It, kinda.
I: Troubled kids ended up living with you guys?
R: They lived there, went to classes. Helped out around the place.
I: What about the beat?
R: [no answer]
I: Wade? What about the music?
R: [long pause] What? Can, I don't remember.
I: Did the music ever make you feel like you could do things?
R: The music is inside of you. All the music does is help you access your potential.
I: What was your potential, Wade?
R: I was a child star, did I ever tell you that? We had that in common, him and I. We were both very successful at a very young age, we both had a lot of potential.
I: Okay, let's talk about something else. What about the kids and their relationship with Justin? Were they afraid of him? What was it like?
R: The kids really looked up to Justin, were really grateful. He did everything for them that he could, bent over backwards.
I: Including have relationships with them?
R: I, they. He really did everything for them. They loved him.[Several days later, Robson finally began to express signs of change.]

5:42 PMR: I have. Can I tell you a secret, doctor?
I: Of course.
R: I mean, I know it's not really a secret. [Robson was pacing around the room.] You're gonna tell whoever, and everyone will know. But for now, let's pretend it's a secret.
I: Of course. What is it?
R: I kinda. [He sat.] I was a little in love with him.
I: You were?
R: I mean. If you'd met him, you'd understand. He's. [a pause] I'm out, that's not it. It's just, everyone was a little in. He, he was special. He's a special guy.
I: Was anyone else in love with Justin?
R: Oh, I mean, sure. Anyone who met him was a little in love with him. He was just like that, if you knew him you'd know. I mean, you might think I'm crazy but ask anyone who knew him, he was. They'll tell you.
I: Was Justin in love with anyone?
R: I can't tell you.
I: Why not?
R: Well, because. That's his secret, right? Not mine.
I: Was he in love with you?
R: No, no. [a long pause] Justin wasn't in love with me.[Over the next several days, Robson gave us a detailed account of life on the farm, a rough outline of the compound itself, and a basic breakdown of the hierarchy of jobs and population of the commune. Though Robson refused to divulge the actual location of Timberlake's property, it is possible that he will give further evidence to that end. This testimony alone is not conclusive, however based on this evidence, Justin Timberlake is currently under review for possible endangerment of minors and tax evasion. These records will remain sealed to protect the privacy of the interviewees until such time that enough evidence has been gathered to consider prosecution, and all parties have been forbidden to speak with the press about anything within these documents.]
