Her Laughter

If I were a poet, I would say that hearing her laugh is like listening to the angels sing. But I don't think her laughter is quite that heavenly. Even though I have to admit that it's one of the more beautiful things that exist in the world.

I wish she would laugh, or even smile more often. Joy suits her much more than either anger or sorrow do.. I guess it's same with everyone, even though Ryoga is much more bearable when sneering at me than when he's laughing at me, but with her, the whole matter seems to gain a greater meaning.. I don't know why, but..

When she laughs, it's like watching a mask dropping off her features, revealing something soft and tender from under that angry frown she always wears, showing a glimpse of a girl who has enough love in her heart to embrace the whole world instead of whacking it with a mallet. And the sound of it is just as astounding as well.. it's like listening to a golden bell to ring, with clash of metal replaced with pure melodies that only a human voice can have.

Yes, I stole those phrases from a love poem. I'm a martial artist, not a literal wonder.

It's strange to watch her change like that, turn from a raving bitch into a near angel. And yet.. it's also beautiful, an experience that is never the same but nevertheless wonderful. And those were my own words, amazingly, a simple opinion put in less plain shape.

Well, I guess I now understand better why Kuno, Ryoga, all those boys at school, why they all are so fallen over Akane Tendo. Why they want her as their own, why they want her love.

They want to see and hear her laugh.
